Elizabeth Foley O’Connor is an Associate Professor of English and director of the Gender Studies program at Washington College.

I have written the first literary biography of Pamela Colman Smith, an artist, poet, folklorist, and suffragette whose design of the 1911 Rider-Waite tarot deck has overshadowed her tremendous accomplishments and fascinating life. “Pamela Colman Smith: Artist, Feminist & Mystic” comes out on Clemson University Press on March 2nd, 2021.

March 30, 2021: Pamela Colman Smith’s New York

Hosted by Victorian Society of New York

I’m very excited for this talk about Pamela Colman Smith’s New York roots, from her early time as a Pratt student to her triumphant return as a celebrated artist.
